Used 2025 Gibson Custom Les Paul Junior Vintage Sunburst VOS

Few electric guitars embody the philosophy of “less is more” quite like the Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cut Reissue VOS.

Originally introduced in the 1950s as a stripped-down student model, the Les Paul Junior quickly proved that simplicity could deliver enormous tone. Over time, its raw power, direct feel, and unmistakable P-90 bite made it a favorite among professional players who discovered that a single pickup and a slab of mahogany could produce some of the most expressive rock tones ever recorded. 

Built by the Gibson Custom Shop as part of the Historic Reissue lineup, this model faithfully recreates the iconic 1957 single-cut Junior. The formula remains beautifully simple: a solid mahogany body, a chunky ’50s neck, and one dogear P-90 positioned exactly where it needs to be. That design delivers an unmistakably punchy midrange and dynamic response that reacts instantly to the player’s touch—from gritty rhythm work to snarling lead tones. The Vintage Original Spec (VOS) treatment gives the guitar the subtle look and feel of a lightly aged instrument, with softly dulled hardware and a thin nitrocellulose finish that evokes decades of natural playwear without heavy relicing. Combined with traditional construction details like hide-glue assembly and a long tenon neck joint, the result is a remarkably authentic recreation of one of Gibson’s most beloved minimalist designs.
