BRUCE FISK
Guitar/Bass
All Ages/All Levels/All Styles
Bruce has taught guitar, music theory, arranging, recording and production for decades. He has performed with jazz bands, theater orchestras, and toured for 15 years nationally in various rock bands during the heyday of blues based rock groups. He studied music at Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory of Music, and has had the pleasure of attending master classes with great guitarists including Joe Pass, Howard Roberts, and Carlos Montoya.
Bruce spends his time away from teaching at a recording studio working with up and coming original artists as well as established acts. He has three young adult children with his wife of 27 years, Aggie.
KEITH MALINOWSKI
Guitar/Bass/Ukulele
All Ages/All Levels/All Styles
At the age of 12, Keith’s father purchased his first Fender electric bass so he could perform with his junior high band mates. Self taught, he worked his way up playing with many local rock and original bands. At age 26, Keith switched paths and began studying jazz and bought his first standup bass. He soon began playing at jazz festivals and local venues, such as Baker’s Keyboard Lounge and Bert’s Marketplace with the likes of Marcus Belgrave, Larry Smith, James Carter, Gerald Cleaver and many more. Today Keith is one of the more sought after bassists in the Detroit area. Some of Keith’s influences include Jaco Pastorius, Ray Brown, Dave Holland, Charlie Haden, John Coltrane, and Charlie Parker.
Daniel Byington

Daniel Byington is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who began his musical journey as a composer and performer in nationally touring bands (metal, progressive rock, electronic/idm).
Daniel is an active performer and composer, and frequently performs with his band or as a soloist in the realm of classical music. Daniel holds degrees in Guitar Performance and Music Education from Oakland University, and was the first guitarist to receive a talent based scholarship through their school of music. Daniel has played for more than twenty years and has spent over fifteen years teaching private lessons. Because of his expertise as a composer and arranger, Daniel creates customized curriculum and arrangements that suit the individual musicianship and goals of a particular student.
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe in a holistic and student-centered approach to education. In the context of the musical classroom, that assumes that music as an art form is a marriage of the technical abilities needed to understand and perform, as well as the various historical, cultural, and emotional dimensions of a given piece of music.
