The Brubaker Brute MJX Series is what happens when boutique design thinking gets translated into a working player’s instrument. Designed by Kevin Brubaker as a more accessible version of his high-end builds, the MJX brings together familiar bass tones with a modern, performance-driven feel.
At its core, this is a no-nonsense, gig-ready bass with serious versatility. The MM/J pickup layout gives you everything from punchy, aggressive bridge tones to smoother, more traditional neck sounds—and with the onboard active EQ and coil tap, you can shape it on the fly without ever touching your amp. It’s tight, responsive, and built for players who want control without overcomplication.
What really sets the MJX apart is the feel. The slim taper neck and compound radius make it incredibly fast and comfortable, whether you’re locking into a groove or stretching out across the board. It’s modern where it matters, classic where it counts—and it absolutely delivers in a live or studio setting.
