This 2007 Gibson SG ’61 Reissue pairs the original SG design with Antique Ebony and gold hardware. Released as Guitar of the Week #6 in a limited run of 400 instruments, it gives the familiar beveled mahogany body and small pickguard a distinctly dressed-up look.
A 1960 Slim Taper mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard keep the feel true to the ’61 Reissue, with easy access across all 22 frets. A pair of ’57 Classic humbuckers delivers warm, clear neck tones and the bite and midrange that make an SG so good through a driven amp. Independent volume and tone controls let you shape each pickup and dial in the blend.
Specs: Mahogany body; mahogany 1960 slim taper neck; bound rosewood fingerboard; trapezoid inlays; 22 frets; 24.75" scale length; 1.695" nut width; tune-o-matic bridge; stopbar tailpiece; gold hardware; black top hat knobs with silver inserts. Nitro cellulose lacquer Antique ebony finish. Original hard shell case and case documents.
