Taylor 814ce Special Edition Black Sassafras/Bearclaw Spruce

The Taylor 814ce Special Edition pairs the versatile Grand Auditorium platform with a distinctive combination of Blackheart sassafras and bearclaw Sitka spruce. The Blackheart sassafras back and sides feature dramatic dark figuring, giving each instrument its own visual character while delivering a warm, focused voice with articulate mids and plenty of low-end body.

The bearclaw Sitka spruce top adds another unique visual element with its rippled grain pattern while providing the projection, dynamic headroom and responsiveness associated with Sitka spruce. This combination makes the guitar well suited to everything from detailed fingerstyle playing to more aggressive flatpicking.

Scalloped V-Class bracing with Relief Rout is designed to enhance warmth, sustain and volume while maintaining pitch accuracy and intonation. A neo-tropical mahogany neck and West African Crelicam ebony fretboard complete the playing surface, while Taylor’s Claria electronics provide amplified performance. A deluxe brown hardshell case is included.
