Originally introduced in 1942 during Gibson’s iconic “Banner” era, the LG-2 quickly became one of the most beloved small-body acoustics of its time. Known for its surprising projection and warm voice, the LG-2 has now been reimagined as the LG-2 All-Mahogany Faded—a modern take on Gibson’s vintage all-mahogany models. Built with solid mahogany back, sides, and soundboard, scalloped X-bracing, and classic black top and back binding, this guitar captures the charm of its historical predecessors while adding modern enhancements for today’s players. Its smaller body size makes it exceptionally comfortable, while the all-mahogany construction delivers a rounder, smoother tonal character that excels in folk, blues, and fingerstyle settings. Outfitted with an L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system, this model is equally at home in the studio or on stage, combining vintage character with performance-ready electronics.
