This Fender Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster brings the attitude of a guitar that’s been hauled through honky-tonks, bar stages, and dive clubs for half a century. Finished in Aged Black flash-coat lacquer with an aggressive Super Heavy Relic, this one looks unapologetically worn, checked, and scarred — the way a Tele feels after thousands of miles of road and sweat. Underneath that relic work sits a resonant 2-piece select ash body, chosen for weight and tone, paired with vintage-correct hardware for dry, percussive response and classic Blackguard bite.
The neck is where this one gets special — a 1957 Soft V profile, slightly fuller than an early ’50s carve, measuring .880" at the first fret and .990" at the 12th, giving it a substantial but fast-feeling grip. One-piece quartersawn maple, 9.5" radius, and 6105 narrow tall frets make it feel broken-in but stage-ready. A matched set of Hand-Wound ’50-’51 Blackguard pickups delivers high-end snap, woody mids, and Tele twang with authority — clean or cranked, it speaks like an old friend.
