This Fender Custom Shop 1951 Telecaster Relic pairs early Fender character with an Aged Shell Pink finish and a few carefully chosen departures from vintage specs. The two-piece ash body is built without grain filler, allowing the wood’s texture to remain part of the finish, while Relic aging gives the guitar a comfortably worn appearance. Hand-wound ’51 Nocaster pickups supply the familiar Tele combination of bridge bite and a rounder neck voice.
The AA flame quartersawn maple neck features a 1951 “U” profile with custom dimensions of .845" at the first fret and .900" at the twelfth. A 7.25"–12" compound fingerboard radius retains a curved feel for chords near the nut and flattens toward the upper frets for bends. Narrow tall 6105 frets and an unfinished, relic-treated neck back round out a build that puts playing comfort alongside its vintage details.
