The Electro-Harmonix EHX Percolator is a modern take on the cult-classic Harmonic Percolator circuit that originated from a Milwaukee audio repair shop in the 1970s. Known for its unusual circuit design and aggressive character, the original became a sought-after rarity. EHX expands on that concept with more control, taking the Percolator from smooth, dynamic overdrive all the way to ripping, gated fuzz.

At the heart of the EHX Percolator is asymmetrical clipping that emphasizes even-order harmonics and responds dynamically to your playing. The Harmonics control adjusts input gain, moving from gritty overdrive into full fuzz saturation, while Bias changes the behavior of the gain circuit for everything from smooth distortion to pseudo-octave and sputtering gated fuzz. Balance handles the overall output level.

A Drive/Fuzz switch gives the pedal two distinct personalities. Drive mode disengages the clipping diodes for a raw, organic transistor overdrive and distortion sound, while Fuzz mode engages the diodes for heavier, more aggressive fuzz. An internal trim pot provides even more flexibility, allowing you to increase overall gain and bring out pronounced sub-octave textures. The EHX Percolator also features mechanical relay true bypass and a soft-touch footswitch with both standard latching and momentary operation.

Features: analog harmonic saturator, overdrive, and fuzz; based on the 1970s Harmonic Percolator; asymmetrical clipping emphasizing even-order harmonics; harmonics, bias, and balance controls; drive/fuzz toggle switch; pseudo-octave and gated fuzz capabilities; internal trim pot for additional gain and enhanced sub-octave tones; mechanical relay true bypass; latching and momentary footswitch operation; mono input and output.
