Electro-Harmonix Bender Royale Fuzz

The Electro-Harmonix Bender Royale takes inspiration from the classic three-transistor Tone Bender MKIII circuit and expands it with a much wider range of tonal control. Built around a vintage-style germanium fuzz circuit, it can move from thick, smooth saturation to aggressive, sputtering fuzz while retaining the character that made the original circuit a favorite.

Traditional Volume, Fuzz, and Bass controls provide the foundation, while a collection of modern additions makes the Bender Royale considerably more versatile. The FAT switch boosts bass and low mids for a bigger, heavier sound, while the CLIP switch changes the final germanium transistor stage from smoother germanium clipping to a rougher LED response. The Bias control lets you push the circuit into gated and sputtering territory, and an active Treble control makes it easy to tame or emphasize the top end.

A Blend control mixes your dry signal back into the fuzz, helping retain pick attack and definition when stacking the Bender Royale with other gain pedals or using it with bass. The soft-touch footswitch also offers both standard latching operation and momentary switching for quick bursts of fuzz.
