The Carr Raleigh is a compact, all-tube practice and studio amp with two very different personalities. Its Clean setting delivers glassy, spanky ’60s American-style tones, while flipping the switch to Overdrive brings on thick, sustaining British-inspired gain. With just Volume, Tone, and Master controls, the Raleigh keeps things simple while covering everything from articulate cleans to saturated lead tones at manageable volumes.

Powered by a single EL84 with two 12AX7 preamp tubes, the Raleigh delivers 5 watts of output with the touch sensitivity and dynamics Carr amps are known for. The extended-range Tone control moves from dark and brooding to bright and lively, while the Master control becomes active in Overdrive mode, allowing you to dial in plenty of gain without excessive volume.

Like Carr’s larger amplifiers, the Raleigh is hand-wired point-to-point in the USA and built with custom USA-made transformers, Solen power-supply capacitors, Mallory signal capacitors, and Analysis Plus speaker cable. Its thin-wall Baltic Birch cabinet is built in-house, making the Raleigh a serious tube amp in a compact package that works equally well at home or in the studio.
