PRS Wood Library S2 Collection
Some guitars are built to meet a price point. Others are built to showcase what's possible.
These new PRS Wood Library Select S2 models do exactly that. By combining the proven foundation of the Maryland-built S2 platform with hand-selected tonewoods and exclusive appointments, PRS has created a collection that bridges the gap between the standard S2 lineup and the prestigious Core Series.
We've added four of these limited instruments to our showroom—two S2 Custom 24-08 models and two S2 Custom 24 models—each featuring stunning poplar burl tops selected through the PRS Wood Library program. While every guitar shares the same exceptional craftsmanship and playability, each one has its own visual personality thanks to the natural figuring of the wood.
What Makes a PRS Wood Library Guitar Different?
The PRS Wood Library program gives select dealers access to specially chosen tonewoods and exclusive specifications that aren't part of the standard production lineup. Rather than simply choosing a finish color, dealers work from an extensive inventory of premium woods, allowing them to create limited-run instruments with distinctive looks and upgraded appointments.
The result is a guitar that feels familiar to any PRS player but offers a level of individuality that's difficult to find anywhere else. Each poplar burl top displays unique figuring and depth, ensuring no two guitars are exactly alike.
S2 Custom 24-08: Maximum Tonal Flexibility
The two Wood Library Select S2 Custom 24-08 models are designed for players who demand versatility without sacrificing simplicity.
Built around the classic maple top and mahogany body recipe, these guitars feature a Pattern Thin neck, 25-inch scale length, 24 frets, PRS Gen III Tremolo, and Phase III locking tuners. The real highlight is the USA-made TCI pickup set paired with the intuitive 24-08 switching system.
Using a three-way toggle and two mini-toggle EQ switches, players can move effortlessly from thick, articulate humbucker tones to brighter, more focused single-coil-inspired sounds. Instead of simply splitting the coils, the mini-toggle EQ switches act as tuned high-pass filters that retain clarity while preserving musical balance, making the guitar equally comfortable covering clean passages, classic rock, modern gain, or session work.
S2 Custom 24: The Original PRS Formula
The Wood Library Select S2 Custom 24 models stay true to the guitar that started it all.
With the same comfortable Pattern Thin neck, iconic double-cut body, and PRS tremolo system, these models deliver the familiar feel that has made the Custom 24 one of the company's most recognized designs.
Equipped with USA-made 85/15 pickups and the classic five-way switching system, they offer everything from sparkling cleans to full-bodied rhythm tones and singing lead sounds. It's a straightforward setup that has become a favorite among players looking for one guitar capable of handling virtually any style.
Built in Maryland. Made to Be Played.
One of the biggest advantages of today's S2 lineup is how closely it aligns with PRS's flagship instruments. These guitars are built in Stevensville, Maryland alongside the company's higher-end models, benefiting from the same craftsmanship, attention to detail, and precision manufacturing that PRS has become known for.
The Wood Library treatment simply takes that platform one step further, adding carefully selected woods and visual appointments that elevate each instrument without changing what makes the S2 series such an exceptional value.
See Them While You Can
