Detroit Guitar Welcomes Nik Huber Guitars to Michigan
We’re proud to officially announce that Detroit Guitar is now an authorized dealer for Nik Huber Guitars — and the only dealer in Michigan representing this world-class German builder.
For serious players and collectors, this is a meaningful addition to our showroom.
Three Decades of German Craftsmanship
Nik Huber began building guitars in 1993 and formally established his company in 1996 in Rodgau, Germany. Coming from four generations of woodworkers — and with years of real-world playing experience — guitar building was a natural evolution.
From his early appearances at Frankfurt MusikMesse in 1997 and the NAMM Show in 2002, Nik quickly developed an international reputation for building instruments of exceptional quality.
Today, a small team of highly skilled specialists builds approximately 350 instruments per year in their Rodgau workshop. That number reflects intention, not limitation. The focus has never been volume — it’s been refinement.
Their philosophy has always been simple:
Better, better, better — not more, more, more.
That mindset resonates deeply with how we curate instruments at Detroit Guitar.
Hand-Built in Germany. Built to Last.
Every Nik Huber guitar is handcrafted in Germany using premium tonewoods, elite components, and meticulous attention to detail.
From ornate custom builds with exotic woods and intricate inlays to refined, stripped-back performance machines, each instrument receives the same level of craftsmanship. No shortcuts. No compromises.
The result is an instrument that feels deliberate — balanced, resonant, and inspiring in your hands.
These are aspirational guitars. The kind you work toward. The kind that stay with you for decades. The kind that eventually get handed down.
A Builder Trusted Worldwide
Nik Huber guitars are played by respected artists around the globe, appearing on records and stages worldwide. Many members of the Rodgau team are musicians themselves, and that player-first perspective is evident in the feel and response of every instrument.
They aren’t just beautifully built — they are designed to perform.
Why Detroit Guitar?
We don’t casually add brands to our floor.
We look for builders who:
- Prioritize craftsmanship over scale
- Maintain a clear and uncompromising vision
- Produce instruments with long-term player and collector appeal
- Stand apart from mass production
Nik Huber embodies all of it.
We’re honored to be the exclusive Michigan dealer bringing these guitars to our showroom.
