At its core: 12 watts powered by a pair of 6V6 tubes, but the Skylark Special uses that modest wattage to full effect. A Hi/Low gain switch and onboard attenuator (down to zero watts!) make it a dream for both stage and studio. Carr’s signature tone-shaping features like the wide-range Mid and Presence controls, and the new H73 voicing (inspired by the Bel-Ray’s British-leaning tones), give you everything from sweet American cleans to bold British bark.

Powered by EL84s and loaded with voicing options—V66, H73, and M68—the Bel-Ray delivers classic amp flavors ranging from Vox-like sparkle to rich, harmonically dense overdrive.
What sets this one apart? Start with the handcrafted solid mahogany cabinet—a show-stopping piece that adds resonance and visual elegance. Inside, you’ll find Carr’s exceptional point-to-point wiring, a tube-driven tremolo circuit, EZ81 rectifier, and a 12” UK-made Fane F25 speaker. And thanks to the built-in attenuator, you can tame the full 16 watts down to just 2, perfect for home use without sacrificing tone.
