Detroit Guitar is proud to showcase the Taylor Legacy Collection, celebrating 50 years of innovation. This collection features five acoustic models, including reimagined rosewood/spruce designs from the iconic 800 Series and two guitars highlighting the signature Grand Auditorium body style. These models honor Taylor's history by blending classic designs with modern advancements.
The first 100 of each model come with a special interior label signed by founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug.
Another model that honors early versions of the enduring 800 Series, the 6-string Legacy 815e combines the power and presence of the classic Jumbo body shape with the richness and warmth of the rosewood/spruce tonewood pairing. This model, voiced with traditional X-bracing, yields a bold response with chiming trebles and a throaty low end around a slight scoop in the midrange. A modern Taylor neck offers a relaxed fretting feel with easy micro-adjustability if ever needed, while the classic mustache-style bridge adds a touch of old-school flair.
Other visual cues include white binding, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, non-engraved Large Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, nickel tuning machines, and a glossy finish for the whole guitar.
