The Les Paul Standard ’50s Double Trouble delivers all of the features and performance of the regular Les Paul Standard ’50s models but with even more vintage appeal. These limited-run Les Pauls differ from the standard models in two key ways. First, the Burstbucker™ 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups are left uncovered, each with Double Classic White bobbins and standard Alnico 2 magnets—giving this guitar a striking retro vibe. Second, the finish is a slightly faded “Vintage” variation of the regular gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, mimicking the light aging that occurs naturally over decades. Since each one is hand-sprayed, no two burst patterns are exactly the same.

Under the hood, you still get everything that makes the original ’50s Standard so beloved: a non-weight-relieved solid mahogany body with an AA figured maple top, a chunky rounded ’50s neck, rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, and 22 medium jumbo frets. The hardware is pure vintage-style, with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, aluminum stop bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, and aged gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers. The uncovered Burstbuckers are crafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop and hand-wired with audio taper pots and Orange Drop® capacitors, delivering rich, articulate tones with a punch of old-school character.
