Danelectro Blackout ’59M NOS+

New Releases

Electric guitars, though they’ve only existed about 90 years, carry a rich history of companies making instruments in a multitude of shapes, sizes, silhouettes, pickup selections, and virtually any other identifier imaginable. It’s a testament to any company that any guitar manages to stick out from the crowd, especially those originally built to be as affordable as possible by someone who didn’t even play guitar.

This is, of course, in reference to Nathan Daniel and Danelectro guitars. Though originally an amplifier company, the guitars have stood the test of time by being quality instruments with a distinctive sound, staying consistent for over half a century, all while being a quarter of the price of guitars from other prestigious companies. Iconic players such as Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, and Ronnie Wood continue to play Danelectro guitars to this day.

Now, Danelectro’s best selling guitar, the ‘59M NOS+, is getting treated to three new finishes. The series, called the “Blackout” line (perhaps due to the slick black pickguard featured on each guitar), features finishes in Black Metal Flake, Purple Metal Flake, and Green Envy, and are trimmed with body side tape (also in black). These stunning guitars also retain the original ‘59M NOS+’s pair of Lipstick pickups that guarantee that signature Danelectro twang sound. The two pickups are dictated via a three-way selector switch, as well as stacked tone and volume controls.
